Thinking About Seeding the Lawn? Do It ASAP!

Dear lawn enthusiasts,

If the snow is gone in your yard, and the soil is dry enough (not squishy), waste no time in getting grass seed applied in those bare, sparse, or damaged areas right now!  March is the second best time of the year to do any seeding. Your goal is to get germination and establishment of grass seed to occur before weed seeds germinate in early May. Yes, soil temperature is cold right now, but grass seed "knows" its special niche and will germinate in cool soil temps and doesn't mind cold air temps.

If you want to apply a starter fertilizer at the time of seeding, we recommend Blue Seal Safe 'N Simple Lawn Food. It's formulated from animal feed ingredients, so it's completely safe- well, that is unless you put it down so thick that the poor little grass seeds would forever remain in the dark! But if you can scratch the fertilizer into the soil, that's perfect. If not that's perfectly ok- no worries. After fertilizing, just press grass seed into the soil.  Don't bury it more than 1/16".

Just so you'll know, the ultimate benefit to applying grass seed now, is that your lawn will be ready to accept Safe' N Simple all-natural Weed Control April 20- 25. All seeds must be germinated by this time so that this weed control can act two-fold; not allowing weed seeds to take hold successfully while actually fertilizing growing seedlings. That's because this product is 9% nitrogen by nature. It's a weed control and a fertilizer when used correctly. It's a miracle!!

So our advice- get out there!
